Dutchman

Dutchman was a famous mid-nineteenth century American horse ridden by Hiram Woodruff. He was a bay, about 16 hands, and was described as “a meaty horse.” He raced both in harness and under saddle and it appears he was primarily a distance trotter. He set a record for the three-mile race of 7:32.5 and won a famous match race against Rattler with four heats of three miles each. His pedigree is unknown.
